On June 10, 2003 Shanghai Wei Te Tu Glass Company and an Italian glass manufacturer, Vetroarredo S.P.A., entered into a partnership. The partners established a company that would manufacture, market, and install glass bricks. Every day the company would produce 300 tons of polluted water that must be discharged; however this process was not stable. According to the “Shanghai City Comprehensive Polluted Water Discharge Standard” policy, polluted water must reach the level two standard before being discharged. Our company used a membrane reactor to treat the polluted water, which surpassed the standard set by the city government (the treated water quality meet the national level one standard). The entire purification system is automated, reducing both operational and management costs. The completed project received an excellent evaluation from both the factory managers and environmental protection department. ?
