Cartridge Filter Clarification
The filter media retains the suspended solids and also absorb organic substances to a certain degree. The filter utilizes several layers of filter material that are graded by size and density. As more substances are retained, pressure loss within the filter bed increases, thus resulting in an increase in the pressure differential between the filter inlet and filter outlet. After a period of time, the substances present in the filter medium have to be removed. Removing the retained substances is accomplished by back-rinsing at regular intervals from bottom to top. The removal of particles will reduce the fouling potential of the RO units downstream.
